Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Sortline is a d/b/a of Max Biehayn LLC (“Sortline,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who this policy covers

Sortline provides missed-call handling and automated text messaging for home service businesses. This policy covers two groups:

Our customers — the businesses that subscribe to Sortline. Callers — people who call one of our customers’ business phone numbers and receive an automated reply.

Information we collect

From our customers: business name, legal entity name, EIN, business address, website, phone numbers, email address, business hours, service area, and billing information. Billing is processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card numbers. From callers: your phone number, the date and time of your call, the content of text messages you send to or receive from the business, and any voicemail you leave. If you call a business using Sortline, this information is collected on that business’s behalf.

How we use it

We use this information only to operate the service: • Sending an automated reply to your inbound call • Delivering your message to the business you called • Alerting the business when your message indicates an emergency • Maintaining a record of the conversation for the business • Billing our customers and providing support

SMS and mobile information

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are shared only with the telecommunications providers required to deliver messages — currently Twilio — and with the business you contacted. They are used for no other purpose. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies and depends on your interaction with the business.

Who we share information with

We use the following service providers, and only to operate the service: • Twilio — telephone and SMS delivery • Stripe — payment processing for our customers • Neon — database hosting • Vercel — application hosting • Resend — transactional email • Sentry — error monitoring We do not sell your information. We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.

How long we keep it

Call and message records are retained for as long as the business remains a Sortline customer, and for up to 90 days after their account closes. Opt-out records are kept indefinitely so we can continue to honor your request.

Your choices

You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. We will confirm and send no further messages to your number. To request access to or deletion of your information, email max@getsortline.com. Note that information collected on behalf of a business we serve may also need to be requested from that business directly.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and error monitoring to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Sortline is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The revised date at the top reflects the most recent version.
